FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (WEDDINGS)

DO WE NEED TO MEET UP BEFORE THE WEDDING ?

All my wedding packages include an initial consultation with the Bride & Groom where we can meet up to discuss your big day.  This is all very relaxed whereby I come to you (probably one evening) and chat over a cuppa! This is a great way to get to know each other and for you to ask any questions you may have.  We can also discuss in more detail what it is you want from your wedding photos.  That way I'll be able to focus on the things you care about the most.  I will take notes so that nothing is missed, or forgotten!

Also included with all wedding packages is a free 'pre-wedding' photo shoot.  This can take place at any time leading up to the wedding.  Normally it would be at an outdoor location on the Isle of Wight of your choice.  This gives us an opportunity to get to know each other a bit more and for you to have a preview of my style of shooting and for you to feel relaxed and become familiar with me and my camera before your wedding.   Hopefully by the day of your wedding, you will feel like you've invited another friend rather than just a lady who takes your pictures!

DO YOU TRAVEL?

At present, I only cover Isle of Wight weddings as that is where I am based.  This means that I can keep my prices at a competitive level without having to add extra costs to my clients to cover ferry fares across the Solent.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUALIFICATIONS?

Yes.  I hold a Diploma in Professional Photography which I completed with The Photography Institute in Covent Garden, London.  My diploma is available to view on request.

I will bring to your wedding my skills, talent and technical knowledge to capture the very best photos that I can.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes.  I am fully insured with both Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.  A copy of my certificate is available upon request.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCIES ON THE DAY?

I am not legally bound to find someone else should an emergency situation arise whereby I am unable to shoot your wedding (eg serious illness, stuck in snow etc).  However, I will use my best endeavours to do everything possible to source an alternative Photographer for the day, from the local network of Photographers.  This may not be possible if they are all booked for other weddings.  In the unlikely event that there is an emergency and no alternative Photographer can be found, a full refund will be given.  You are, of course, also entitled to have a back-up plan of your own.

DO WE FEED YOU?

This is entirely a matter for you!  However, weddings are very long days and I will be 'on the go' all day long so it's probably a good idea for my energy levels to be topped up!  Nobody likes their picture being taken when they're eating, so when you all sit down to eat, I will also sit down to eat.  If you have chosen not to include me in your food numbers (and I won't be offended if you haven't...) I will happily bring a packed lunch and find a corner somewhere away from your party to re-fuel.  That way, I'll be fully energised and ready to get those all important shots of the speeches!

AFTER THE WEDDING, HOW LONG UNTIL WE SEE OUR PHOTOS?

I say to allow up to 4 weeks for me to go through and edit all of the photos from the day.  Often they will be ready much sooner (around 1 to 2 weeks) but during peak times it may take the full 4 weeks to process them all.  As you can appreciate I take a lot of photos on the day and each one needs to be looked at carefully and edited if necessary.

If you ticked the box on your booking form to say that you were happy for a small selection to be placed on my Facebook page, then you may see a 'sneak preview' of one or two before all the main ones are finished.  If you don't want this, please confirm.

All the edited photos will be provided on a heart-shaped USB in a presentation box, which I will personally deliver to you.  From the USB, you will have the rights to print as many photos as you wish.

WHAT IF OUR GUESTS WANT PHOTOS?

That's no problem at all..!

I will upload your final images to a private online gallery which will be password-protected.  Only you will have this password, so you can give it to whoever you want to.  Nobody will be able to view your images online unless you want them to, and only by using the password.  However, the cover photo will be able to be seen by anyone so if you'd prefer that to be of, say, your table setting rather than a photo with you in it, please let me know.  You will be able to share the link to the online gallery with your family and friends so they can view and download whichever images they like.

DO YOU INCLUDE ANY PRINTS WITH YOUR PACKAGES?

Yes.  I will include one 12" x 10" mounted print (approximately A4 in size).  In an attempt to keep the cost of my wedding packages at a very competitive rate, I do not usually print the images.  However, the USB that you receive will include high resolution images with full printing rights to you.  This means you can print bigger sizes and as many copies as you want.

WHEN ARE OUR PAYMENTS DUE?

I require a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.  This will secure your date in my diary so that nobody else can book the date you want! The remaining balance will be due in full no later than 2 weeks before the wedding date.  I offer an instalment option, so if you're on a tight budget, you can pay the balance in instalments providing the last instalment is paid 2 weeks before the big day! An invoice will be sent electronically for your own records after we have had the initial consultation and everyone is happy.
